Description of the works
As part of the University's ongoing commitment to improving campus facilities under the LTM capital works programme, window replacement works will be carried out at the Brockington Building. This project involves replacing the existing windows on the first and second floors. Please note that the ground floor windows were previously upgrading in 2015 and will not be affected by the current works. The new windows will be double glazed to enhance both soundproofing and thermal insulation.
To facilitate the works, access will be provided via an independent scaffolding system which includes HAKI stair towers. For safety reasons, Heras fencing will be installed around the base of the scaffold. This fencing will extend more than four metres beyond the building footprint to accommodate rakers that provide essential lateral support to the scaffolding.
In order to accommodate the contractor's site compound and welfare facilities, parking in the immediate area surrounding the Brockington Building will be restricted for the duration of the project.
Timescale
Physical construction works are scheduled for completion by 12 September. Dismantling and removal of scaffolding and fencing will follow, with full demobilisation expected by 26 September 2025.
